The Methodist Home
1415 West Foster Avenue
A 121-bed Medicare-licensed nursing facility featuring a warm, comfortable setting with private and semi-private accommodations, The Methodist Home prides itself on creating a sense of community, where all residents can count on feeling at home.
Our services include four levels of individualized care: Light Nursing, Moderate Nursing, Skilled Nursing and Specialized Alzheimer’s Care. Therapy, rehabilitation and respite stays are also available. We have a complete rehabilitation facility on site, which is staffed with licensed occupational and physical therapists and equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment.
At all levels of care, residents receive personalized attention from our professional, compassionate staff members, who are certified in pain management, wound care, IV therapy and nutrition management.
Skilled Nursing & Long term care
At The Methodist Home, we provide professional nursing services to enable the physical and emotional nurturing and support our residents need. Our integrated team approach enlists registered nurses; physical, speech and occupational therapists; certified health assistants; physicians; social workers; dietitians and activity therapists to work closely together in developing a tailored health care and lifestyle plan for each resident. Physicians from local hospitals are available for 24-hour-a-day consultation, or a resident’s care can be supervised by their own personal physician.
Rehabilitation & Sub acute center
Recovering from a hospital stay should be a pleasant experience in a private room. At The Methodist Home, our short term rehabilitation services provide a comfortable and stimulating place to recover. From the 800 square foot rehab center, staffed by on-site physical, occupational and speech therapists, to the specialized acute care services, patients can rest assured that rehabilitation professionals will ensure a caring environment. Between therapy sessions and nursing care, patients have the option to view popular movies and cable television, read top-selling books, play games and enjoy delicious, home cooked meals delivered to the privacy of their suite.
When just a little help with the activities of daily living is all that’s needed, light nursing care is the answer. Residents at this level of care may need assistance with such things as laundry, bathing or medication reminders, but are basically independent. At The Methodist Home, they can enjoy private accommodations and inviting community living areas where fun and friendship abound. Many cultural, social and educational opportunities are available on site, and free transportation is available to theaters, museums, shops and other nearby points of interest.
When round-the-clock supervision is needed, residents at The Methodist Home can count on receiving the care they need. Here, a team of licensed, caring nursing professionals are available to help residents with dressing, bathing, grooming, dispensing medications or other routine tasks. Residents at this care level enjoy private accommodations and comfortable community living areas where they can feel safe and secure. Social activities, including book discussions, lectures, poetry readings and outings to gardens, museums and live performances provide intellectual stimulation and encourage friendships among residents.
Specialized Dementia & Alzheimer's care
At The Methodist Home, our staff has been specifically trained to address the needs of residents at either beginning or advanced stages of cognitive impairment, using activity-focused therapies to engage residents with their environment. Wall colors, patterns and furniture arrangements have been carefully chosen for individual rooms, and common areas have been designed to help orient residents and contribute to their safety and peace of mind. Since Alzheimer’s disease and dementia place tremendous emotional stress on loved ones, our staff coordinates educational seminars and support groups to help them cope. Respite and short-term care programs are also available.
